EUROCONTROL's INVENTAIR
ENVISA was mandated by EUROCONTROL to create a website dedicated to global aircraft emissions. The site will allow registered users to download and visualise worldwide emission grids based on WISDOM flight movement database.
World Interconnected Sources Database of Operational Movements – WISDOM
Dates: 2007 - 2008
ENVISA is in charge of improving the quality of EUROCONTROL’s WISDOM database of global flight movements and trajectories. This Oracle database includes six representative weeks of global traffic with individual flight trajectories for every year starting in 2002. It serves as the basis of large-scale environmental impact assessments for aviation, such as the ICAO / CAEP modelling activities.
ENVISA’s main tasks are to:
- develop a trajectory completion methodology for missing flight segments
- design interfaces with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for trajectory selection and visualisation
- assess the quality of flight trajectories by comparing them with those from airline Flight Data Recorders (FDR).
